The Times They Are a Changin’ [Marketing Song]

.

A month ago, the marketing world celebrated Marketing Transformation week, a celebration of the marketing revolution and the change in how marketing is done today.

Bob Dylan was a strong voice and proprietor for change during the 1960s. If you think about it, social order in the 1960s is to small businesses growth in the present. It makes sense to take one of his moving songs and rewrite the lyrics for these inbound marketing times.

Enjoy our coffe house-style video. The lyrics are below, and you can download the .MP3 here.

The Time's They Are a Changin'
- Bob Dylan cover

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you sell
And admit that the networks
Around you have swelled
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your business to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start thinking
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come small business owners
Create content for your space
And keep your eyes wide
There is no time to waste
No thing as too niche
That’s a marketing sin
And there's no tellin' who
will be searchin’
You’re no loser now
You are destined to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come marketing mavens
Please heed the call
Don't ignore the data
Don't let business fall
Those who interrupt
Will be those who have stalled
Opportunity is ragin’
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The story is cast
You may be small now
But your growth will be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
Outbound tactics
Rapidly fadin'.
Inbound marketing now
Be the best one that lasts
For the times they are a-changin'.

I loved it. I am launching an association to encourage Accounting, Legal and Financial Advisors to start talking to each other to better serve themselves and their clients and stand out from their peers, because the times they are a-changin'. Can I post this on my website? Thanx!

NICE! I love it, as a digital marketing pro AND as a musician. Now I have to write one. Keep up the great work...hope you get tons of "listens".

This is great! As an old Dylan fan, this takes me back. Love the part about no space being too niche. I can remember a time when people didn't agonize over their target audience, but we're much better informed today.

This is the same theme we used in the latest whitepaper on PostingMuscle.com
