Gene - Yes, there are many metrics you can use to measure the ROI of your PPC campaigns. In fact, I wrote an ebook called "An Introductory Guide to PPC" which you can check out here for more information on the topic: http://www.hubspot.com/marketing-ebook/introductory-guide-to-paid-search/
Enjoy!

HA!!
What about realistic metrics to analyse the ROI of SEO? Thats the difficult one for me. I've experimented with loads of different ways but would be good to get someone else's input...
Sarah Goliger 11:15 AM on January 19, 2012
Martin, there are definitely a handful of different metrics to help you measure your SEO efforts. Check out our Intro to SEO ebook - it has a chapter on measuring SEO success and discusses the best metrics to use, including traffic, leads, ROI, indexed pages, inbound links, and more. Enjoy!
