Business Blog: How Frequently To Post Articles?

.

I have often wondered about the appropriate frequency to post new articles.  I had always though there was a few days a week balance to posting that was frequent enough that you woud not overload readers, but where there would not be long gaps where people would delete you from their RSS reader.  The statistics below from Technorati clearly correlate frequency of posting with success/authority of your business blog.  The A-list bloggers tend to post close to twice a day!

It seems to me that these averages are more accurate in the first three categories. When you get to the category with the most authority, you get an imbalanced average because while a lot are still posting once a day (like the category before them) this is the only category that includes the (largey) political bloggers who post ten and fifteen times a day. I have a feeling that a lot of bloggers with the most authority, are up there for posting one post each day but the post is generally of the highest quality --- e.g. Guy Kawasaki. Curious to know what other people think.

Penelope,
Thats a very good point. The very top political bloggers are probably throwing the data off a bit. In general, however, I was surprised to see how correlated frequency was for the second highest level. For a small business owner (many of our readers), it is hard to come up with content for blog on that frequency.
Brian.
