If you're reading this blog, and haven't yet read David Meerman Scott's The New Rules of Marketing & PR, go out right now and get his book. When we first came upon his book, about a year into HubSpot's life, we called him up and said, we started a company based on your book. That initiated a wonderful, long-lasting relationship with David, which most recently resulted in him speaking at the Inbound Marketing Summit. This must have been the fourth or fifth time I've seen David speak, but it was just as inspiring and enlightening as always. Fortunately, we were able to record the presentation and the video is below.

If you were lucky enough to see David speak at the Inbound Marketing Summit, feel free to review his presentation below. Also, I encourage you to share the video with at least one other colleague who couldn't be there.

Then - let us know what you think, what you learned. Did David's book or presentation transform how you did your marketing? Have you been able to implement inbound marketing techniques to reach your buyers directly? Create a response, either in the comments below, or on your own blog (leave a comment below with a link to your post), and we'll summarize the best comments in a future blog post right here.

David's Book is the bible of the rethinking of using the new tools of Web 2.0 to help business, non-profits and political organizations increase thier revenues or contributions.

Yah, it's a real good stuff. David is just amusing even though he never laughs loud. I was quite understanding it. The company names he used in the slide I was opening in a new tab. That's a kind of inbound marketing. If inbound marketing was not their I wouldn't have even checked about the two US presidential candidates' website. I'm involving more and more on the page inbound marketing to my web designing company website. Thanks for this stuff.

Can you plese make the sound higher next time? bye gd luck

It only takes a spark to get a fire going! Thanks for this. I will have to get the book. Seems to me we all have the responsibility to affect many many people in positive ways.
Can we also break out of the lemmings mindset and help people think for themselves? Challenge the group mind itself and still be effective? Balance is important.
Walks in the woods, starry nights, silence and food made by hand that you've grown yourself is still a very rich life, surrounded by art and music that makes you soar, breathing in pure clean air to your peaceful soul.

Amazing presentation. What gets me is that so many people are watching/reading presentations and content just like this and still using the gobbledygook that David clearly illustrates as being useless.

Interesting insights. I'll keep these in mind.

Thanks for posting David's keynote...I had been wondering if it would be made available. I won't just be sharing this video with only one colleague but will instead be showing it to my entire team as they just recently read the ebook and are now currently reading/finishing the regular book.

This was a great way to kick off an excellent conference! You would've never been able to guess that this was the first IMS because of how well organized it was, the caliber of speakers who attended, and the exchange of knowledge that you could hear going on in the hallways during breaks. I would love to see IMS extended to a 2 day event next year if at all possible!

Thanks again!

Amazing. There is so much opportunity in understanding this trend. Challenging mindsets is important as is staying in touch and reinforcing the message. SMS Marketing is a great way of doing that.www.econfirm.com,au provides a free trial for this.

After five years at the current financial marketing firm I'm at now, my boss, former Madison Ave exe, found David's book and had us all read it. Thank you David. It's given us some room now to start building a few of the concepts David talks about in his book such as our own company blog.
