Nice cartoon. This is what is both good and bad about twitter. Some people think it's a race to get the most tweets and pass on whatever they read. Others take a few minutes to actually read something and decide if it makes sense to share.

I had to comment to at least prove that I read this. Now I'm going to RT. I'd love to know how many people actually read the links. I do. Maybe that's where commenting becomes even more important.

Cool cartoon--fine handy tooling from the creative dept. I see? It's lame to read other's RT when it's several in a short amount of time, it's very obvious that they are simply RT-ing and not reading the content. I am like many others, I want to know what's important to me and just me ONLY. You lose "cred" when you RT everything under the sun. But sure, Tweet what you think is good... Tweet on brothas and sistas... It's just up to me unfollow you, the annoying nonreading RT'er.

I'm also bored by people who retweet posts from users who are very well known and have thousands of followers. If I'm interested, I'm probably already following them. I prefer retweets that introduce me to people I may not know about, and they need the exposure a lot more!

I agree with Manny. I only retweet when I find something of "value." If I see a series of RTs with a particular user, I begin to wonder if that person has any original thoughts. Don't get me wrong, it's flattering to be retweeted, I would like to know what's going through your mind.

So true. I've actually unfollowed people who rt everything under the sun in a span of 30 seconds. It's too "noisy".

indeed. reading should become a norm for most before they become RT's!
Then again - who has time for reading?
Maybe I do!

Yup, the gr8 RT issue. Do U ReadTweet before you ReTweet? Is twitter taking us to the place where the attention grabbing headline IS the message and the supporting detail ignored?
