Skanks in NYC Outted

  • Judge Rules That Model Has The Right To Learn 'Skank' Blogger's Identity
  • Skanks in NY posted 5 blog posts last summer about Cohen
  • Judge Madden ruled that Cohen had the right to learn the name of the individual who wrote about her. "....Madden found that use of the terms "skank," "skanky," "ho" and "whoring" possibly defamed Cohen because they appeared in captions near photos of the model in provocative poses. "Under these circumstances," Madden wrote, the words combined with the suggestive photos "carry a negative implication of sexual promiscuity.""
  • Marketing Takeaway: Don't write slanderous defamatory things about other people on your blog.

Facebook is Hiring!

  • Attention Engineers: Facebook is Hiring!
  • "Facebook Inc.(they have 1000 employees already) plans to expand its staff by as much as 50 percent this year as it benefits from a surplus of engineers amid the recession, Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said."
  • Marketing Takeaway: Use the down economy to hire great talent and expand your marketing programes.
  • Dan Zarella Marketing Takeaway: Kick your competitors while they are down.
    • "No one else has been hiring," Zuckerberg, 25, said in an interview. "It's been a great environment for us because the economy has helped out."

The Twitter Effect

  • Twitter Effect rattles Hollywood
  • "Box-office watchers say the dramatic swings may be caused by Twitter and other social networking sites that can blast instant raves - or pans - to hundreds of people just minutes after the credits roll."
  • Bruno had a 39 percent box office drop from Friday to Saturday, Twilight dropped 41 percent from Friday to Saturday.
  • "Movietickets.com recently ran a home-page poll in which 88 percent of the voting sample said Twitter had no effect on them. Joel Cohen, the company's executive vice president and general manager, thinks "we may be putting too much weight onto the Twitter Effect."
  • Marketing Takeaway: You can't hide a bad product behind marketing any more.

I enjoy Hubspot TV a lot. However, an audio podcast would fit into my schedule a lot better. Have you ever considered taking the audio from Hubspot TV and making it available as an audio podcast? It may take a little extra time initially, but it could actually expand your audience further.

Just a thought and a suggestion.

All the audio files are available on blip right now.

It would be neat to set up an RSS. We can work on it.
