I have to say some very compelling numbers you have compiled on Facebook over there at Hubspot! What I find most impressive about your report is the overall usage growth of Facebook in just the past year! I mean they basically doubled there fan base from 125 million to 350 million in ONE YEAR! That is incredible and one of the best indicators I have see about how quickly widespread and accepted this platform has become as communication medium for the public and for marketing purposes.
great overview Jeanne - really looking forward to this webinar!
Incredible numbers for facebook,
Well written post with great info as usual from Hubspot, great work guys.
Hi! Great article. My question is about your Facebook grader. I have both a group page and a fan page. The group page (which is what it defaults to grading) is not used by our company. Instead, we focus on our fan page. How can I see what that grade is? My url is http://www.facebook.com/greenfeet
Thanks!
Fantastic article. I realy enjoy all the insight you provide here which is helping my stategies online for the DMO I market online. So nice to see that since we are heading for 2000 fans on our fanpage that we are above your 50% statistic. We have a goal for 2010 to reach 2010 fans. We have 3 days to get 300 more. Wish us luck! I am dedicated to high media exposure with video and photo's and it seems to draw the people! Having fun while shooting helps also and takes away the market"y" feel to it. Makes more of a community.
Thanks for the informative article. I tried to get a grade for our Fan page
www.facebook.com/SkyAngelTV) but only got a grade for the user account. Are there other steps I need to take?
Hey Karole and Valerie, what I did is opened my fan page, and copied the url in my browser and then pasted it in the grader. It worked great, and returned a grade on the Fan Page and not my user account. Best of Luck!
Ok - so am I doing something wrong? I go direct to the FB page grader and copy in my url (http://www.facebook.com/greenfeet) and hit the 'grade' button. All that comes up is a list of websites down below and their page rank. That's all and good but where's the grade for the url I put in the bar? I'm feelin' pretty silly right now.
Hello, Kellee
I just tried again and it doesn't give me a grade. Not sure why it doesn't work, I'm really interested in this. Thanks.
Unfortunately, we can't get the ID of the page that facebook uses a vanity url. Try grading the URL in the original facebook format, it looks like this (notice the number in the address):
My url does not that address. I have either http://www.facebook.com/greenfeet OR it shows http://www.facebook.com/pages/Greenfeet#/Greenfeet?ref=ts which doesn't work either. How do you get the page url with the number your reference in your Hubspot page. I know most companies are like mine and use their fan page vs their group page
I think I figured it out. On the home page of the facebook page grader (not through the link above) enter in your business website. when I do that both my group page and my fan page appear with grades. Appears I have a lot of work to do to raise our ranking. Any more tips on how to raise the power of a fan page? Thanks Hubspot!
Valerie, where exactly is the "facebook page grader home page"? that you pasted your Fan Page URL? I've tried a few more times but still don't get results. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Hi Karole. Here's the link to the Facebook grader 'home page':
http://facebook.grader.com/
Type in your company name url (I just typed in
www.greenfeet.com for mine) and it showed both my group page and my fan page. Let me know if this worked for you!
