Nice use of the teams around you to produce something in house. Would love to hear about the thought processes behind it.

Great job - I'm inspired to do something similar for my business. You guys are a great resource for smaller operations like me needing some help in the creative aspect of marketing and promotion. Keep up the good work.

Talmadge: It was pretty simple. I wanted to do a creative video project and tried to think of something we hadn't done before. We all love MadMen (thus the style), and I got a ton of enthusiastic people who wanted to take a shot at acting in the video-- and did absolutely amazing!

I'm always impressed by my talented colleagues at HubSpot. Makes me proud. :)

Rebecca, you're totally right. It's amazing the talent that we find around us - especially when we have an inspiring project. Great job.

Make it a real movie :)

Wow! I can’t wait to see this flick! It looks great! The title should be re-named “Mad Marketing”;) Great job @repcor!!

YES! I ate a piece of flooring (eco-friendly) and posted it on YouTube. Of course, the old codgers in the flooring industry laughed at me, but we get more online leads than anyone else in the Carpet One system... It worked and it was fun. You all really know your stuff!

When will be the full movie out? :)) Really nice!

I'm a huge fan of hubspot, but this video just didn't do it for me. Please do not make this movie haha

And to think you missed the Oscar nominations by just a few days. Shame. Maybe next year...

Kudos on a great way to get the inbound marketing subject across.

@Repcor

I'm always amazed at how talented you are - great work on this one. So happy that I could help out with hair & costume a bit, but your directing what superb.

I agree with everyone. You should make it a full length movie!

Let me know if you need my hair-pertise again :D!

CIO Magazine just heard from 277 CIOs griping about "outbound marketing". Cold-calls, specifically Their comments were CLASSIC. There's a webinar, featuring some of them, next week, Feb.10. Register here:

Love it. These videos are great. I'm using some of them to smack people around here about the importance of inbound marketing.

Next up, clearly, is to do a video spoof of the LOST show. Your leads were headed from your website to your CRM system when they disappeared somewhere over the Pacific Ocean.

I like how you guys use staff to come up with nice videos like this. I am assuming the actors are staff too right?

Owen: Yep! Everyone works at HubSpot. We're all either on the marketing, customer or sales teams.

posted on Wednesday, February 03, 2010 at 4:10 PM by Rebecca Corliss

Maybe you guys should do a post on how Entrepreneurs can train staff to become more marketing focused regardless of their specific function in the company. If you have that blog post already advice me on the link to it. Thanks

Owen:

That's a great idea! I don't think we've written about that specifically before.

In this case, my actors were chosen purely on enthusiasm! Those who volunteered and were available to do the taping after work hours were chosen. (And naturally, they worked the hardest because they were so happy to be a part of it.)

There was no "training;" I just directed and they made magic happen! Aren't they great?!

I love it! Great approach for bringing exposure to your offering while keeping us all entertained.
Can't wait for the movie -- can I be an extra?

You guys are so creative and willing to try and anything. Also, from this clip I get sense of how good the morale must be at a place like Hubspot.
