13 Must-Watch Marketing TED Presentations

.

TED Ideas worth spreadingsmallIn 2006 the Sapling Foundation started curating TED (Technology Entertainment and Design), a global set of conferences seeking to spread innovative ideas. TED was founded in 1984 as a one-off event, and the conference was held annually and has been host to many of the brightest minds in the world, including Bill Gates, Larry Page, Richard Dawkins and many Nobel Prize winners.

Some of the best ideas spread by TED presenters have been related to marketing. These presentations help to put important marketing-related issues into context and uncover simple truths about persuasion and engagement. Whether you market your own small business or a Fortune 500 company, you can take away valuable information and insights from these great speakers.

Fantastic collection. I don't know where I'm going to find time to watch all of these, but if one ends up changing the way I see the world or do things, then it's worth it.

Arg! You beat me to it! I wanted to come up with a list like this. Great job.

I'd like to add a few more that I keep as my favorites on my TED account:

David Pogue Says Simplicity Sells

Awesome list, thanks for putting together. I love TED and just added it as one of my Flipboard sections. I watched a few videos now and will have to watch a few more later.

These are great. Thanks! I have watched the first 5 and I will definitely watch the rest of them. I had three ideas after watching the first few.

1) Use the series for a personal mini-seminar. Write down the ideas that really made me think.

2) Use the series for a half-day seminar for the marketing communications team that I lead at Marian University in Indianapolis.

3) Invite marketing folks from the Indy area to campus to watch and then talk about the videos.

Again, thank you. Pax!

Awesome - thanks for sharing Kipp.

I've been downloading TED lectures and listening to them as I walk, but I missed half of these.

I absolutely loved the Malcolm Gladwell one. "The mind knows not what the tongue wants," and "There is no right sauce, only right sauces." Excellent talk on what humans want.
