When Google+ first launched, some businesses used personal profiles to create business profile pages, but Google quick shut them down, and it seems they had a few reasons for doing so.

Apparently, when business accounts launch in Q3 2011, they will have analytics as well as more sophisticated sharing options. Any business that is still using a personal profile for a business account will not be able to migrate their personal account to a business account.

A Google spokesperson confirmed to VentureBeat, “There will be a product very soon that has businesses’ interests in mind… We want to give them the features businesses expect and the features that can improve the sharing experience both for consumers and businesses.”

Google has not released specific details around what the exact features of the analytics for business profiles will be, though they have said that they will be consistent with the analytics tools found in other Google products. It is reasonable to assume that they will be in some way connected to Google Analytics.
