Planning a website redesign can be pretty daunting. After all, we've all heard the nightmares about the "website redesign gone wrong." (Or lived them.)
There's the company who went way over budget. There's the company who had to quit half way through due to the lack of resources. And of course, there's the company who was working until midnight every night to stay on deadline. Why would anyone EVER want to put themselves through any of that?
I'm here to tell you that redesigning your website isn't always as painful as you think. We conducted a survey on website redesign and found some very promising results for us marketers who know it's time for a website redesign -- but are nervous about committing the time, budget, and resources.
For instance, 75% of respondents said that 10% or less of their marketing budget was allocated for their website redesign. Hey, that's pretty good! And 50% of businesses surveyed hired an external resource to help with their website redesign. Way to keep your in-house team on-task.
But we won't give it all away here. Let's go through all of the reasons designing your website may not actually be as painful as you think. And since most people don't enjoy scrolling through a bunch of numbers, I put it together in a SlideShare for you. Check it out.
See? Website redesign doesn't have to be a pain -- and of course, there are many benefits to updating your website when it's really time for an overhaul. If you're trying to convince your boss that it's time to invest in a redesign, feel free to share this deck with him/her -- and download the full set of benchmarking data to help you ensure you get the support and accolades you need and deserve for your next redesign.
