Welcome to the latest edition of the Product Spotlight. We’re here to walk you through this month’s biggest and most exciting HubSpot product updates. We’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s get started!

What's New in the HubSpot Product

What’s New in Marketing Hub?

Google Search Ad Creation

You can now create a Google search ad campaign directly from within HubSpot.

One of the great benefits of Marketing Hub is the ability to do it all from one platform. And this latest release enables you to create ad campaigns for Facebook, LinkedIn and Google, right from HubSpot! You can also easily use assets you’ve already created in HubSpot in the search campaigns.

To get started, click on the “Create ad campaign” button in the Ads tool, choose “search”, and select your Google ad account. Then, select if you'd like to create a brand new campaign or select an existing Google ad campaign.

This update is now available to all Marketing Hub customers.

Ad Sequence Builder for Facebook

At HubSpot, we’re big proponents of using Journey Based advertising to make sure your ads are always relevant and helpful as part of a good inbound-marketing strategy. Now more than ever, it’s important to keep ads as relevant and targeted as possible to break through the noise.

Now, you can create a full Journey Based Advertising campaign within HubSpot by using the new Ad Sequence tool. This new tool automates all audience targeting, so even a novice ads user can run an inbound ad easily. It's loaded with automation features, and, best of all, since it lives in HubSpot, so you can easily access images and pages you’ve already created.

The Ad Sequence builder will be available for Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise. It’s now in public beta, so ask your CSM about getting started today.

Commenting on Marketing Emails

As remote work becomes more prevalent, collaboration and seamless teamwork becomes more important.

When working on an email campaign in HubSpot, you'll often have questions, thoughts or feedback for your team, but it can be disruptive to break your flow and switch to chat or email.

That’s why we’ve introduced an integrated commenting sidebar in the Marketing Email tool. Here you can leave messages and tag teammates for feedback, enabling you to collaborate together in-app.

Next time you edit an email in any of HubSpot's new marketing email editors, you'll see a tooltip showing you the new commenting feature. You can also style comments with formatting such as bold, italic, underline, links, and bullets.

Commenting also supports directly @ mentioning and is powered by the same commenting system as CRM timeline comments, so your notification settings are exactly the same.

This is available now to all Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise customers.

Skip Dates in Workflows

With the holidays approaching, you might want to stagger your communications so they don’t get lost in the flurry of holiday promotions, or buried in your customers’ inbox while they’re out on vacation.

Now, you can define specific days of the year when you do not want workflows to execute. For example, you can skip the week of the winter holidays in your nurture workflows to avoid your emails getting lost in your customers’ inbox while they’re taking time off. Skip dates can be configured on an individual workflow basis in Workflow setting.

Authenticate Apps in Workflows

Workflows become even more powerful when integrated with the other tools you use on a daily basis. Previously, if you wanted to connect HubSpot workflows with another app, you’d need to find the app in the marketplace, authenticate it with HubSpot, then go back to your workflows builder to integrate it into the workflow you're building.

With this update, you can now find and authenticate marketplace apps from within the workflow builder itself. This makes it easier to find your favorite apps and build workflows in one place without jumping between other tools.

Surfacing Errors of Workflows Index Page

With workflows, you can design business processes that automate the most manual of tasks without a hitch. But occasionally, an error will send your workflow grinding to a halt.

Prior to this change, the only way to know something went wrong was to proactively sift through your workflow history log events each day for errors.

Automation is supposed to cut down on your workload, not add to it. With this change, we are rolling out an easier way to identify errors within workflows. Now, you can view which workflows have errors on them and which are functioning normally, right from the workflows index page. This helps you quickly identify the workflows that need some attention while letting the others run.

Attribution Now Supports Events and Video Views

Attribution reporting gives you a holistic way to understand the customer journey, and see which of your efforts help you reach your goal, like a specific revenue target. It's important that marketers can personalize their attribution reports to reflect the way leads engage with their brands.

You now have the option to include HubSpot-hosted videos and webinars tracked through a marketing event in revenue attribution. These reports help you understand how your video views and event contribute to your goals, and make sure your creative and event teams get the credit they deserve.

Video as a Data Source in the Custom Report Builder

You can now use “Video View” as a data source in the custom report builder.

With the new custom report builder, you can analyze data across multiple HubSpot objects, including video. By building a custom report, you can see how video views impact your other business efforts, such as sales, form submissions, feedback surveys, and more.

This feature is now available for all Marketing, CMS, and Service Hubs at the Pro & Enterprise level.

What’s New in Service Hub?

Choose from Multiple Email Footers in Feedback Surveys

Our first update is a highly-requested feature. You can now choose different email footers within your feedback survey emails. You can set up your email footer in the marketing email settings and choose which footer to use in the feedback survey editor.

As you grow and scale, you might manage multiple brands and offices from one portal. Using the right office location when communicating with your customers is crucial, so you can now change your office location when creating your feedback surveys.

When editing your feedback survey email, under "email” settings, select "advanced settings". A dropdown will show all of your office locations created within email footer settings. This is available to all Service Hub Professional and Enterprise portals.

Multiple Jira Issue Associations to a Single HubSpot Ticket

For those using the Jira integration, you can now add multiple Jira Issues to a single HubSpot ticket. This gives you visibility into Jiras that are associated with HubSpot tickets, and enables you to easily associate new Jiras as necessary. No more switching between HubSpot and Jira platforms to see this information.

Each Jira issue will display on its own dedicated card and up to ten issues can be associated. This is now available to all Service Hub Customers.

Create Jira Issues from Workflows

While we’re on the topic of our Jira integration, we’re also excited to announce that you can now seamlessly create new issues directly from HubSpot using a Workflow extension.

For example, lets say your support rep has received a ticket that required developer support to resolve. Instead of having to go to Jira to create the issue, you can set an enrollment trigger in workflows that will automatically create a Jira issue every time a HubSpot ticket is put into the support pipeline. Using workflows, a user can ensure this instance triggers the creation of a new Jira issue for the developer team to work on, all without having to go to Jira to create the issue. This creates a seamless experience for your teams and reduces resolution time for your clients.

Using ticket-based workflow, you can set the enrollment triggers you’d like to create a Jira. All customers get access to the Jira integration, and Service Hub Professional and Enterprise customers get access to Workflows.

Delete Comments in Inbox

Inbox users can now delete comments in Inbox. Previously, you couldn’t delete comments, even if they weren’t needed or had mistakes in them.

To delete comments in Inbox, click on the “actions” button in the comments section. Then, click on the "delete comment" button. Deleting the comment will delete it from the threadview and the thread list. This feature is available to all HubSpot Inbox users.

What’s New in Sales Hub?

New Sales Forecasting Tool

Forecasting is a core part of the sales management process. It’s vital for both managers and sales reps.

Forecasting in Sales Hub provides an easy way for reps and managers to submit custom forecasts and gauge their accuracy. And, with customizable reports and analytics supporting weighted pipelines, it gives managers a bird’s eye view of team performance.

We’re excited to share that forecasting is now available to all accounts in Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise.

Merge Custom Objects in HubSpot CRM

Maintaining accurate records is important for all reps and sales teams. It’s unfortunate, but no matter how careful reps are, you can always end up with unintentional errors.

Those errors can take the form of duplicate records, which can cause reporting inaccuracies. To help you correct these errors, you can now merge custom object records in the same way you merge deal and ticket records.

The new tasks home gives reps everything they need in one place to work through sales activities, follow up with prospects, set meetings, build pipelines, and close deals. The new Tasks home is now available on desktop and mobile.

New Create/Edit Permissions to Manage Templates and Sequences

As sales teams scale with HubSpot, admins, managers, and partners need the ability to manage the tone and strategy of their outreach. Now, admins can determine which users have the ability to edit or create templates or sequences. Before this change, any user with access to templates and sequences could create and edit new templates and sequences. This meant that users could accidentally alter important pieces of content.

Now, with app-level “write” permissions in templates and sequences, admins and sales managers can decide which users should be able to create and edit content that impacts the sales team's outreach. This will allow tone and sales strategies to be managed at scale.

To use this feature, go to users and teams. There is now a toggle next to templates and sequences to control these permissions. By default, all users with access to templates and sequences will have the create/edit permissions. Templates create/edit permissions are available to all portals with access to templates. Sequences create/edit permissions are available to all portals with access to sequences.

What Else is New in HubSpot?

Video Views on Contact Activity Timeline

You can now see video view events on the activity timeline of a contact record.

Now, if a contact watches your embedded video for at least five seconds, it’ll appear as an activity on their record. Being able to see if a contact has viewed a video empowers your team. Sales reps can reference the video’s content in their pitches, and marketers can create similar videos to replicate their success.

To use this feature, simply embed a HubSpot video into your content. Then, head to a contact record and filter for “Video Views” to see if a contact has watched your video.

This is now available for all CMS, Marketing, and Service Hub customers at the Enterprise and Professional level.

Video as a Data Source in the Custom Report Builder

Next up, I’d like to highlight that you can now use “Video View” as a data source in the custom report builder.
