Laura M. Browning is the lead writer for HubSpot’s Marketing Blog and a contributor to the Masters in Marketing newsletter. Among her accomplishments is a 100% increase in mentions of Malört in HubSpot properties. She’s formerly the executive editor of pop culture site The A.V. Club, where she oversaw a website redesign/migration of 20+ years of content and watched a lot of TV. She’s been a writer, editor, strategist, and people and project manager for marketing departments, digital media publications, museums, nonprofits, an encyclopedia, a business school, and one tree full of elves. Laura has been an invited presenter or panelist by ACES: The Society for Editing, the Poynter Institute for Media Studies, the Sydney Opera House, and the New York Press Association, among others. She once co-presented a conference session called “‘Turdmonger’ is Definitely a Closed Compound: Editing in Online Entertainment.” Laura earned a B.A. with honors from College of the Holy Cross and a master’s degree from University of Chicago, and served two terms on the executive board for ACES: The Society for Editing.
