We all know marketing is about creating content that will educate your leads and customers. But, is your content setup to help brand your business and move leads through the sales cycle? I recommend you have someone be responsible for ensuring all of your content is not missing one of the five things below.
1. Consistent design
Every piece of content you create should have the same, consistent template. People will probably download and share multiple your content at their company. You want them to be able to recognize your content, especially when they’re using it to make decisions and get buy-in from decision-makers. Less is more when it comes to design. Let your content be the shining star.
2. Company name and logo
You should include your business name in the footer of your content and your logo in the header. Keep the placement of your logo and company name consistent for each piece of content you create.
3. Link to website and blog
Include a link to your website and blog in the footer of your content. You might want to link to a specific landing page instead of your homepage, so they will be taken to a website page that is consistent with the piece of content they’re reading.
4. Call to action
Every piece of content should always end with a call to action. It’s just like how you should always end a blog post with a call to action. Make sure the call to action is relevant to what they just read and is linked to a specific landing page. Use a tracking URL with the call to action to measure its effectiveness. The call to action could range from subscribing to your blog to speaking with a specialist at your business.
5. Phone number and address
This one is so simple, yet I see so much content that doesn’t include the businesses phone number or address. The address is definitely not as important as the phone and number, and you should think about placing the phone number in the header. The address can be placed in the footer.
How have you branded your content? Have you been including a call to action in your content?
