Isaac Moche wrote a fantastic piece highlighting the digital skills gap. In it he shares an alarming statistic that would stop any business professional in their tracks. Boston Consulting Group in partnership with Google conducted a study which asked 1,100 digital marketers to rank their skill set, and the average marketer ranked themselves a 57 out of 100.

"Being world-class is not easy," as George Thomas put it in his #INBOUND16 session titled, "How to be World-Class at HubSpot in 60 Days." During his presentation, George polled the room, which was at capacity, and asked the 500+ people, "Who thinks it's difficult to be world-class?" In response to this question, almost everybody in the room raised their hands. Then he asked: "Who in the room believes themselves to be world-class?" To this question, a few lonely hands were raised.

While some people can be especially self-critical, this number illuminates a more common theme — in today's information economy, one must always be learning.
