HubSpot Launches Free Marketing Grader Tool to Replace Website Grader

.

HubSpot Marketing Grader Since 2006, HubSpot's award-winning free tool, Website Grader, has graded more than 4 million websites. Website Grader has given marketers advice on how to improve many aspects of their websites and encouraged millions to bring their website presence to the next level, all for free. But now the time has come to replace Website Grader! A lot has changed since 2006, and these days, marketing is about much more than just your website.

Today, we are excited to announce the launch of a totally new free tool from HubSpot. It's called Marketing Grader. In under 30 seconds, it analyzes all of your marketing -- not just your website -- reviewing over 30 different factors and then providing an overall Marketing Grade on a 1-100 scale.

Why is Marketing Grader Replacing Website Grader?

In 2012, marketing is about more than just your website. It's about social, mobile, blogging, email marketing, lead nurturing, and analytics. As a marketer, you need to be aware of how your marketing impacts your entire sales and marketing funnel from the top of the funnel to the middle of the funnel. Marketing Grader does just this by analyzing all aspects of your marketing efforts and letting you know where you're succeeding and what you need to spend more time improving. Marketing Grader will help you understand:

  • Competitive Benchmarking: Is my marketing more or less effective than my competition?
  • Lead Generation: Are my marketing efforts generating enough leads and sales?
  • Mobile Marketing: Is my web presence optimized for mobile devices?
  • Social Media: How effectively are we using Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter in our marketing?
  • Blogging: Is my blog driving results that justify the time investment, or are we wasting time doing the wrong things?
  • Overall Analysis: What are the strong points and shortcomings in our marketing?

Marketing Grader also outlines why you should take particular steps to improve and what your top priorities should be. With customized action items to help the top of your funnel, the middle of your funnel, and your analytics, Marketing Grader makes it easy for you to figure out your next steps.

Additionally, if we find something you could be doing better, the tool gives you resources to learn more about that particular topic so you can become a marketing superstar, and take your marketing to the next level.

describe the imageAs the year comes to an end, it's time to start thinking about what your top priorities in 2012 need to be and making some resolutions about what you should do differently. Run your own Marketing Grader report to get a head start on coming up with your resolutions and to-do lists for the New Year.

What's your marketing grade? How is your marketing faring?

You're going to take the wind out of my marketing assessment consulting fees! However, nice tool and I'm sure I'll be able to put it to good use.

Just ran my first Marketing Grader Report and it really does offer more than Website Grader did. Great job Hubspot. I look forward to continuing onwards and upwards. Especially like the links to the social media accounts.

Great job HubSpot. Even though my website has only been live for 1 week I ran the Marketing Grader Report. Cool social media links too...

This is great stuff! I love all the clues for when things might not be going so well. I shall be sitting down to watch all those videos to make sure I am on top of the game :)

Just checked it out. Much more robust, plus the scores are now lower, which is a good thing.

Well done everyone!

This is a fantastic tool! I've just run a few reports for some of my clients websites and the reports I received were very comprehensive and list great actionable items.

Great job!

Yipes! Even with a 99.3% SEO grade, pr 4, combining with all aspects of marketing, I'd rather not say what my grade is lol, except to proudly request some help from HS, seeing opportunity in mobile optimization.

@Sara Hawerlander

website grader never recognized my facebook or twitter page, nor does marketing grader, despite reciprocal links, and each coming up very close to one another on the first page of google searchs.

I always assumed website grader's failure to note my facebook or twitter was a par the course, but who knows?

Looks good, I like how the recent content from the blog is rated with the amount of social media shares. This is much more important with latest Google 'Freshness' algorithm changes. Have not seen any other tool with a feature like this. Thank.s

There are huge blind spots in the measurement that results in a significantly lower score. I tested it on my site and found the following unaccounted for:-
<a>http://marketing.grader.com/sitewww.net-profit-marketing.com

1) Are you using any marketing automation software?
We are using Infusionsoft, but it is not detected. Guess it's because we are not using Hubspot?

2) Your visitors are not engaged when on your site:
Metric is measured using Compete.com and is totally off for us. Reality is our visitors stayed on average 2 mins per page and with about 4-6 pageviews.

3) How many unique visitors do you have per month? The tool says "0".
Yeah right, we generate over 16k visitors and it's not detected....

But still, we got a marketing grade of 76, despite of these huge missing unaccounted for components. Maybe only Hubspot customers can get high scores?

In summary, this is a smart piece of promotion software tool for Hubspot to sell more of their products, but I'm disappointed at its accuracy. It would have to be more pragmatic and accurate to impress online marketing professionals.

Just wanted to let folks know that we were having an issue with Twitter yesterday. It has been resolved and you should again be able to enter your Twitter account and get accurate data. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Website Grader has been really useful and Marketing Grader promises to highlight so much more that makes for a successful B2B Sales Funnel. Some teething issues but I'm sure they'll get sorted. Well done HubSpot.
