How very interesting, but I wonder if the credit score issue comes more from age/home ownership. After all, if you are using a non-cable email address (e. g. Yahoo versus Comcast), it might mean that you don't own a home yet, or that you're younger.
Of course I am, personally, the exception to the rule, as my personal email is on the Yahoo domain, the email I share with my husband is on Comcast, we own our own home and I am as old as the hills.
