Many of these people will return, and some more qualified to purchase than before. Let's explore how you can leverage abandoned shopping cart lead intelligence with marketing automation to boost your ecommerce remarketing activities.

First, let’s surface some of the potential reasons for shopping cart abandonment:
- The buyer ran out of time to complete the purchase.
- The buyer is surprised by the shipping charges.
- The buyer wasn’t ready to make the purchase.
- The buyer is comparison shopping.
- The internet connection failed.
- The shopping cart has expired.
- The buyer found a better price.
- Product availability changed.
The good news is that, in 75% of these scenarios, you still have an interested buyer. The trick is striking while the iron is hot. Chances are, the longer you wait to contact the potential buyer, the more likely she is to change her mind or buy from someone else. To make sure you're jumping on these potentially lost opportunities quickly, set in place the following 3-step action plan to remind and entice potential buyers to make their purchases.

I like the idea of sending people automatic emails after abandonment as a marketer. As a buyer I don't want to receive emails from a company I didn't buy from trying to woo me back. It's a tough one.

I appreciate your post. Bookwise this looks perfect but its implementation is not that easy. If, someone bounced back from one website without purchasing then why would she appreciate an email from that company as well as she will receive an email only then when she left her contact information and 90%+ she would never do so. So, how to increase an online sale? I would say to make the website interactive and no website can be interactive unless it has a human interface.
We all are human being and love to connect with humans. We don't like machines to answer our questions. That would be best if the website become humanized which shall do on-spot engagements.

Very good read... I agree with so much of what you say. I am new to marketing but I am loving the process. I am a very creative person and find great ways to think "outside the box" so I'm an innovative marketer. ;) This is great information for me. The system I use is very comprehensive and inexpensive for me. It has a video email system w/custom templates and incorporates a database manager (like Constant Contact) so I send "in person" messages to new customers, clients, etc. It also has a video conferencing system included in it and I use it for training. The new auto-responder feature is going to allow me to automate so my clients/customers will always be kept informed of deals/specials, new incentives for referrals, etc. I am very excited for the upgrade coming soon, too.
