8 Free Links to Promote a Blog

Digg digg it | Reddit reddit | del.icio.us del.icio.us | StumbleUpon StumbleUpon

Do you have a new blog? Want to get 8 free links to your blog? Here is a list of free links in blog directories that you can get for your blog, along with the Page Rank of the blog directory (read this article to learn more about Page Rank: The Importance of Google PageRank: A Guide For Small Business Executives).

So far, none of these links have driven a ton of traffic, however, more inbound links do help you a lot in terms of search engine optimization (read this article to learn more about linkbuilding: Executive Summary: Linkbuilding and SEO for the Internet Marketing Neophyte).

We have submitted our own blog to each of these blog directories and can confirm that they are quality links from reputable sources, and they are all free and do not require a reciprocal link.

Almost all such sites require you to register first before submitting a blog. It would be so much easier if these sites had some metrics for a blog to be on their list, matched the submission against the list and decided whether it was worth listing or not. By actually registering, you are giving them a bunch of information, getting on their spam list in return for something that could or could not be tangible. In short, its a crap shot. Thanks for the list in any case.

Thanks Hubspot for identifying these. It is very difficult for a fledgling Blog to get established these days as there is already so much choice out there for readers so all pointers, tips and advice are welcome.

This is a great resource. It was really easy to submit my blog to them all except the last one - it wasn't intuitive at all. Thanks for this.

You can add your blog to Grokodile as well. As well as giving a simple listing you can edit your detail page to have your site ranked by custom tags... which lets you compare youself to other bloggers.

Excellent Mike!! I have a few recommendations for Blogs too, some pretty obvious and some others not. Stumble Upon your blog, Ping it with Technorati, save post to Del.icio.us, submit to Digg, Blogatiser, all the sites above, use BlogRush(which is an excellent tool), make great content and link to other relatives blogs.
Thanks for your always welcome advices.

Follow a daily practice of submitting to 3-5 blog directories per day. and you will develop a strong backlink (one-way link) structure.

I maintain a list of The Top 101 Blog Directories & RSS Submission Sites on my blog at:
