Personalization is one of the most powerful tools in your marketing tool kit. Consumers today expect businesses to tailor experiences to them, giving them the personal touch that makes a brand human. Your website is a critical place for personalization since it’s your number one salesperson, working 24/7, 365 days a year.
If you haven’t invested in personalization yet, now is the time. A study by Accenture found that 41% of consumers have switched companies due to poor personalization, costing businesses $756 billion.
But, it can be daunting to get started with personalizing your website. With so many options out there, where do you start? How do you develop a strategy that will get you the results you want? How do you combine content and context to deliver the right content to the right person at the right time?
In the Contextual Marketing Certification course from HubSpot Academy, you can learn all that and more.
What Is the Contextual Marketing Certification Course?
The Contextual Marketing Certification course is an advanced marketing course that teaches you everything you need to know about contextual marketing and how to do it in HubSpot.
Contextual marketing is a strategy based on personalizing the user experience on your website. It’s focused on creating targeted content tailored to your visitors’ needs and preferences.
If you’re new to HubSpot, you can take the HubSpot CMS for Marketers course to prepare for this certification. Check out that course here.
The Contextual Marketing Certification course includes six lessons:
Fundamentals of Contextual Marketing
Designing the User Experience
Using Personalization With Contextual Marketing
Segmenting With Context
Planning a Contextual Marketing Strategy
Creating Smart Content in HubSpot
There are activities and worksheets to complete throughout the course that will give you hands-on experience with contextual marketing.
Once you’ve watched the videos and finished the exercises, use the study guide to prepare for the exam. After you’ve passed the exam, you’ll receive a badge and certificate to show the world your knowledge of contextual marketing.
What Do You Need to Get Certified?
To get the most out of this course, it’s recommended to take the HubSpot Marketing Software Certification course first to get comfortable using the HubSpot tools. If you haven’t taken that course yet, check it out here.
In order to get certified and pass the practical exercises, you need to have HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise. It’s also recommended to have your website hosted on the HubSpot CMS, but it’s not required.
Since contextual marketing is closely tied to who your contacts are and how they’re segmented, it’s recommended to have at least 500 contacts in your HubSpot CRM. You should have some familiarity with lead segmentation strategies, developed buyer personas, and content targeted to each stage of the buyer’s journey.
