Blogging is a powerful inbound marketing tool not just because it helps you educate prospective customers. Blogging also provides search engines with fuel they love: fresh and original content. Unfortunately, many businesses invest the time and effort in creating blog content but don't take the time to optimize their blog and its content for search engines . The folks over at SEOmoz created a great infographic dedicated to blog SEO.
Marketing Takeaway

Lot's of useful information in this piece. Thanks for the great reminders. Sometimes we think we have all we need, but sometimes forget the small things that make a difference.

Just curious why that wording...Very awkward. Wouldn't it be better to say "How to Optimize a Blog for Search Engines"?

You could just eliminate "Don't overdo links". I don't know how many bloggers have you seen lately who have more than 100 links per page... This is just intuitive for every blogger. Also outbound links: help your visitors, create the possibility of someone linking back to you and "tell" search engines what your text is related to.
This "keep your link juice" tactic is so 2000's.
